The Fire that Ignited the World

Another week,  another Tuesday,  another meeting with Mrs. Olivar, and another blog that has to be submitted. Frankly, I'm getting used to this routine, and this feels like something i will miss when it's all over..

There was a tale in Greek mythology, a titan named Prometheus had a reputation of being a clever trickster. He famously stole fire and brought it down to humanity, along with the gift of metalwork. This act enabled mankind to progress significantly as a civilization.

Today, we talked about the new information Communication Technologies that we will have to deal with in our future classes,  we talked about regulations of the usage of ICT, howw we could enforce policies that are fair and just inside the classroom. Teenagers today are so drawn into technology that they dont even know what to do without it. The dependence in technology is quite alarming these days, to the point that we had to reform security and privacy policies because the internet provided more methods in breaching one's privacy, the freedom of speech and expression created a toxic anonymous community among internet users that affected a people's mental stability, there are now more ways to spy on people with the social media, And electronic devices are improperly disposed, exposing us in toxic chemicals and causing significant harm in our environment.

Technology is becoming more powerful as time goes by, it is the key to thriving as a civilization. The great thing about technology is it does everything you want it to do,  and the bad thing about technology is... It does what you want it to do.

Technology could be twisted in so many wicked ways. Sometimes,  we don't even know that were already causing harm with how we use it.

The fire that Prometheus brought could both become a blessing and a curse, it all depends on how we utilize it. Today,  sadly,  the fire is slowly becoming more intense,  and it wont be long until it burns our world if we don't learn to control it.

"There are so many ways Humanity could destroy itself, technology is in all of them."
