The Procrastinator's Conundrum
When one procrastinates, they tend to live a leisurely life when given a task that is due for next week, or the next month or so, rushing things on the exact night before the deadline. Unfortunately, i'm one of these people...
This week, were supposed to report our own articles and policies regarding ict issues. Last night wasn't exactly pretty, there was a miscommunication among my group, and worse? We just realised it the day were about to report. , Although i cant help but feel like im also at fault.
I had the urge to get up and volunteer for our individual reports, but i dont feel like I'm ready yet. Mam olivar started giving us pointers as to how we should report and how simple our powerpoints should be, it was a great relief, at least i would know how we could properly report in class, this would boost my confidence a bit. In the end, i wasn't able to report due to lack of time, its a big relief for us, now we can actually make our work better. I noticed some of my classmates are still doing their assignments, i guess they too are victim of procrastination. Mam olivar is definitely displeased in the sight, she took our assignments, some output were given back because of too many errors, some were lucky enough to be considered, fortunately, no paper came back to me..
I remember this famous fable, about a race between a bunny and a turtle. The turle walked with consistency throughout the course, while the bunny just enjoyed the time of its life when it knows it can definitely get the work done even earlier.
Procrastinators are stuck in a cunundrum of whether they should get work done or do them later, the latter is always the go-to choice. This usually ends up to having to rush the work and create something messy, or sloppy, they dont put their passion in the task, they simply do it for the necessity. And as a future teacher, that is the trait that i wanted to eliminate before i graduate this course.
