The "Magic" behind illusions

Today is our second unit test, and it was something we never anticipated. The atmosphere in the class is as tense as ever as time ticks into 8am, everyone is gathering and memorizing every bits of information from previous discussions. Everyone was passing out notes, PPTs and were studying in a group, it is quite obvious that most of us didnt study prior to this day, myself included. It was a relief when the exam came around, we only had to make an outline of a certain literature and were done! Easy right? Just because its as simple as making an outline doesnt mean it doesnt come with various challenges, mam olivar didnt administer this as a unit test without a reason. We had to take in a myriad of information in a short amount of time, and make it without any erasures, with a limited space on a single short bond paper, so we basically have to shorten pages of literature into one. This exam is proved to be a daunting task, but a relevant one. My memory of the article is a little ...

Inside my Bubble

Comfort is something we always sought as human beings, even our technological efforts are meant to give us at least some convenience, hence, making our lives less tedious and more comfortable. In the era of technology, i always noticed that people are willing to sacrifice security in favor favor of convenience, and most aren't even aware of this. As a teacher, i wanted keep my student informed about every negative aspect of technology. Today wasn't that bad, it seems like a good break from everything that is happening lately in our academic lives. And of course, mam Olivar, being as firm as ever, marked everyone that are not in class the moment she went in as absent. I this this is a good exercise for all of us, my classmates may not appreciate much of it, but i believe this kind of enforcement will positively influence our performance in the future, we will learn to always get in time, the "Filipino time" mentality became a toxic behavior among Filipinos, this is s...

Curiosity

Not everyone knows about this, but one of my obsession are celestial bodies beyond our own planet. The curiosity rover landed on mars back in 2012. Since then, it has discovered traces of substances that made life on earth possible. Which led scientists to speculate that mars wasnt such a barren planet back then, this discovery opened the door to a myriad of possibilities, we even considered living on that planet, a feat that no one thought was possible. This is the day of our presentation, our topic is a surveying polls, quizzing and testing tool. Surveys are a fundalmental part of any research, everything that you'll ever find out and may discover lies on every data you collect and how you interpret it. For years this has become a repeated cycle, every day we are improving the works of the ones that came before us, making them more refined, and efficient. So it is equally important to be able to organize every data that you collect. Technology improves every day, so does the to...

The Lazy Cow

I once read about this one korean folktale many years ago, it was about a boy in a farm who never wanted to do any work and gets annoyed whenever his parents asked him to work. He dreamed of just being a cow,  laying down all day in the grass and not doing a thing. One day,  he got fed up and ran away,  he met a man selling masks, the man made the boy wear a mask which turned him into a literal cow,  he was sold to a farmer and was put to rigorous farm work. Eventually, the boy came back to his human self, realised all of his wrongdoings in the past and never became lazy again. Today,  one of the "lazy cow" in our class got the scolding he deserved.  Mam olivar reminded me of that mask seller who taught the boy a moral lesson. She lectured everyone who came in late today, which makes sense because as a teacher, we cant afford to be late in class, I make it a habit to come to school an hour and a half early. were supposed to become role models,  som...

Judgement Day

Most religions have their perspective about this sacred day,  most noteably,  the christian belief that jesus will come down here and judge humanity based on their belief and actions. The judgement day is yet to come and no one knows for sure when, or if this will happen at all. Judgement days are more frequent in college, or in any level of education, it comes in a form of a summative assessment. Weeks of rigorous lectures and studies all comes down to this, the ultimate test whether we actually learned something, or our brain remained stagnant in the past few weeks. I didn't feel like i prepared enough for this day,  but I have no choice, i a test to inform myself what i lacked and what i have to improve on I think i did fairly well,  but all hell broke loose when i saw the last page...my mind was not ready for this,  i wasn't able to read much about the CMO, which is probably the worse sin i could commit in this course.  I felt devastated,  i ha...
