Inside my Bubble

Comfort is something we always sought as human beings, even our technological efforts are meant to give us at least some convenience, hence, making our lives less tedious and more comfortable. In the era of technology, i always noticed that people are willing to sacrifice security in favor favor of convenience, and most aren't even aware of this. As a teacher, i wanted keep my student informed about every negative aspect of technology.

Today wasn't that bad, it seems like a good break from everything that is happening lately in our academic lives. And of course, mam Olivar, being as firm as ever, marked everyone that are not in class the moment she went in as absent. I this this is a good exercise for all of us, my classmates may not appreciate much of it, but i believe this kind of enforcement will positively influence our performance in the future, we will learn to always get in time, the "Filipino time" mentality became a toxic behavior among Filipinos, this is something we have to break to be a more progressive member of society. We had a small recitation for the people who haven't had any recitation grade, the questions are encoded on a qr code. I already have a grade, but i figured it would be fun to join in the sir rainier's little activity, and help some of my classmates to answer questions.

Now for the lesson proper, sir rainier discussed about portfolios and how to properly make them, this feels like a foreshadowing of something we will have to do for the next term. Next he discussed how we could make a proper reflection of an event, or a piece of literature.

This is where things got tricky, for another task, sir rainier instructed us to make an instructional video of the topics that we like, i could think of many topics i could talk about, however, having to face a camera, or even just talk and recording it is my greatest weakness, so this will be challenge where i have to step away from my comfort zone and explore beyond the boundaries of my capabilities.

Sir Rainier made us watch some examples of what may seem to be instructional videos, one YouTuber used the tunes of a kids song about sharks to make an educational music video about sharks. One is an animated representation of animal cruelty. One is a phone advertisement that sends a strong message about being responsible, not just to what you upload into the internet, but the safety of mother nature's mysterious creatures, some things are better left unseen. One is a motivational video of an athlete who had a serious accident which ended up limiting her human capabilities, but managed to defy his limits and became a successful pilot, personally, this video hit me the most.

Breaking out of your comfort zone is one of the hardest things in life, were used to just float around inside our bubble. This is why some people never discover their true potential, what they're meant to be, what they could have been. Life will constantly throw challenges that forces you to get out of your comfort zone, this is what makes life more unpredictable, spontaneous, interesting. You wouldn't read a story that doesn't have any conflict, right? the way we deal with these challenges are what makes us a better version of ourselves. So go out there, pop your bubble, and dive head-first into the abyss.
